There are some diets that tell you to forget the calories but that does not make sense to me. If you put more in than you take out then I cannot see any other result than putting weight on.

Do not rush it either since rapid weight loss diets are usually bad news in the long run. It is fat thighs you want to get rid of and starvation type diets usually only get rid of muscle. Since muscle is the power house that lets you burn off fat then it is bad news to lose if you lose it. In the end you will just put more fat back on.
